What you’ll do?

Our Data Technician plays a pivotal role in managing all electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across our operations. As a Data Technician you will work closely with our Audio-Visual department, providing technical expertise and hands-on support for our upcoming projects. This role offers the opportunity to apply your skills to a variety of challenging and rewarding tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

  • Install and terminate cabling in accordance with site drawings, specifications and industry standards, ensuring neat, secure and compliant installations.
  • Run, label and test Cat6 and other structured cabling required for the installation of security systems including CCTV cameras, NVRs and associated network infrastructure.
  • Assist with the installation, positioning and mounting of security cameras, brackets and associated hardware.
  • Work independently on smaller projects or service tasks, effectively managing time, materials and installation quality.
  • Identify and report any cabling faults, installation issues or design discrepancies and resolve.

What you’ll bring?

  • Have a Security License, an Open Cable License is highly regarded.
  • Previous experience working in Data Cabling or as an Electrician.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and physically fit.
  • Experience within the CCTV, security and IT space. 

What else do you need to apply?

  • Travel on-site to our office in Notting Hill and to our client's offices across Melbourne.
  • Be available for the work hours of 6:00pm - 2:00am.
  • Must be an Australian resident available to work full time without restrictions.

Compnow will provide and require all successful applicants to complete a current National Police Check as well as a new or updated state-based Working With Children Check.
